Whether you are a seasoned climber or a newcomer looking to try the sport,
The Lock Climbing Wall in Harlow provides great climbing experiences for all ages and abilities.

Following the Government’s advice that the UK will be moving onto step 4 of the recovery roadmap on July 19th, we’re happy to announce that there will be an easing of some restrictions within The Lock Climbing Wall.

• Pre-Covid opening times and pricing will be reinstated.
• There will no longer be a need for climbers to pre-book and time slots will be removed.
• Harnesses will be available to hire – while stock lasts.

Despite the easing of restrictions there remains the need to be vigilant and for us all to do what we can to ensure that chances of COVID 19 transmission are kept to a minimum. Therefore:-

• We ask that climbers continue to wear face coverings while on-site when not climbing.
• We ask that climbers continue to think of others and not climb routes adjacent to occupied climbs.
• We ask that climbers continue to be mindful of others’ space when in the climbing wall.
• The requirement for climbers NOT to take extraneous bags and belongings into the wall remains.
• The Lock Climbing Wall team will manage capacity throughout the day. Climbers may not be admitted if the wall is at full capacity. We recommend that all climbers check The Lock Website or social media prior to visiting the wall.
• The cleaning regime currently in place will remain as required.

The Lock Climbing Wall thanks all of its climbers for the patience and understanding shown throughout the pandemic and the necessary restrictions that have been in place.
